Boasting a generous 12oz. capacity, the Lore is 50% larger than your standard Kuksa. Oh, and being crafted from a solid chunk of hardwood doesn't hurt either. Drinking from a hand-carved wooden vessel may be considered a luxury to some... though, we'd consider the Lore 12 an absolute essential.
Handcrafted from 100% natural hardwood
Includes mil-spec 550 paracord
Capacity: 355ml (approx. 12 fl. oz.)
Sealed w/ food-grade, BPA-free finish
Weight: approx. 5-7 oz
These guidelines are to help ensure maximum longevity. Like any natural wood product (i.e. cutting boards, knife scales, etc.), if you treat your kuksa right, it’ll serve you well on many adventures!
1. HAND WASH and DRY BEFORE INITIAL USE.Just good practice for anything that's been handled and packaged.
2. OIL REGULARLY. Your hand’s natural oils help, too. Dry wood has a propensity to crack and split over time, so keep it conditioned. Remember, dish soaps strip these oils.
3. NO EXTREME TEMPS. Including microwaved, dishwasher, and boiling liquids. Can you use your cup for hot coffee or tea? Absolutely! Just let the boiling liquid sit a few minutes before pouring. High temperatures can potentially fatigue the wood, and eventually, over time, cause it to crack.

For my so, who has everything
I use my Kuska nearly every day for my morning coffee. I also like to use it for soups, chili, and will be trying it out with some tasty oatmeal very soon! I love the way the food takes on a more earthy tone coming out of the all wood Kuska. I would recommend the Kuska to all outdoorsmen/women who love the look and feel of wood and fine craftsmanship! Thanks Uberleben!
I really have enjoyed it and I’m looking for a large size to add to my kit
Perfect little bit of simplicity in my complicated life, makes morning coffee taste better
Great for backpacking into the wild !!
Just finished my first cup of coffee from the kuska.
Nicely made. I'm ready for the outdoors.
I love the old school Lore. I use it to drink water out of. The finish beautiful, with only a couple of dole places inside the bowl area that appears might not have been sealed up as good as the rest of the cup. Beautiful wood grain, and craftmanship. I did order the 12 oz. with the 2 hole handle after using the Lore for a while. The2 hole is easier to pick up and drink out of, but it can't compare to the sheer beauty of the Lore.
I love this wooden mug. It is my go-to for coffee and tea in the morning while van-living. I wax it with food grade wax and it’s holding up beautifully. It provides the perfect warmth for my hands as I’m drinking. Highly recommend.
I like it already and anticipate loving it by the time camping season is over here in Wisconsin. (I'm not at all fond of weather below 40 F.) I've got a couple more outings planned and will use the Lore again for morning and midday coffee. It "radiates" a feeling of warmth beyond a porcelain mug! (I'd just add that I'm a bit peculiar in that I always take a crystal glass camping for drinking other beverages because I will NOT drink out of plastic -- ever. Even backpacking requires a level of civility!)
Perfect for that much needed morning coffee in the Pacific NW. Thanks!
Love this Kuksa!!! No more burnt lips from my old stainless camp mug!! The styling of this Kuksa is beautiful. It fits great in the hand. There is nothing like watching the sun come up while sipping coffee out of it.....
Love my cup! My #1 go to while camping.
Economical, stout, and well made! I have a penchant for personalizing most things I purchase, and did so again. With a bit of sandpaper, mineral oil, bees wax, this Kuksa shines. Just the right size!
Use it for my nightly bowl of ice cream
nice unique style love it
Great cup, all my family members want one!!!
Awesome craftsmanship and a amazing addition to my gear!
Beautifully made and it feels like I’m on Gilligans Island.
Great purchase love this thing , use it for coffee , soup and hot chocolate on my journeys
Love my gear from überleben including the new kuksa! Just the right size for use while primitive camping.
It’s hanging from my gear line in the van! Love it! Excellent quality and feel. Easy to hang on my gear and go.
A steadfast friend, a soothing handshake. An object of satisfaction.
we thought it was very unique, it fit our love of the outdoors, and I have a cup of coffee and my wife has a cup of tea every morning at our camp in maine.
Nice cup - I like wood - A little heavy, was expecting something a bit more delicate - The grip is a bit slippery with the end against the cup edge a mite thick which causes my finger to slide away from the cup - not complaining - I may fine tune the grip to fit my hand with a Dremel - All in all. like the cup. Thanks.
I used it a few times already,,,, It works great with the Rod or Flint and Steel,,,, but I have a good supply of Charcloth,,, So I'll save in the pouch with the Rod for a "Git that fire goin NOW" event.
And I'll order a couple of extra wicks soon,,, just to have them on hand.
Im not in the wild yet, something i do, i test all my gear before i go! Any excuse for great coffee, you can drink it quick and get on your way ! Love this mug❣
Very comfy and stylish cup. I use it for drinking coffee in the morning and drinking bourbon at night. Highly recommended!
Got it for my son for Fathers Day. He said he likes the size and weight.
It's a gift so I haven't used it yet. But it is beautiful craftsmanship and it shipped quickly.
Charming new addition to my cupboard. Love the feel of this cup!
Beautiful to hold and drink out of, will cherish it, and buy more for special friends in my life :)
Bushcrafting or just in the backyard, this kuksa is a real treat to use. Coffee stays hot without the mug burning your hand and an afternoon adult beverage stays cold with no weeping. I got the "12" (and added my own "belt tag" to keep it handy around camp) and now my wife wants a #8 original. She'll get it!
- Jeff Glover, happy customer
Enjoy my kuksa very much!
Great portable cup, edge is thicker than expected, however drinkable.
Well made product that I am going to enjoy for some time. Well done
This is the perfect size for morning oats or afternoon soup or stew. Makes me feel like I’m home in the woods!
Use everything all the time. Extremely happy with all products. I own one of everything.
Great company, great products! Fast shipping great prices! Do yourself a favor and buy it if are going back and forth!
Love my kudos for coffee and an occasional bowl of oatmeal or cereal. It’s a keeper!
We aren’t coffee drinkers, but we love hot chocolate. These are great to look at and use. We love them!
Great addition for anyone, especially the ones who love the outdoors. Great quality and it’s exactly as described. Would definitely recommend
Setting by a warm fire in the stove drinking some mead in my wonderful cup
Beautiful product works perfectly I love it
My feel experience is awesome, cup is fantastic!,
Beautiful cup, but I dropped it on the rocks first time out. A pretty good chunk chipped off the lip, so I glued it back in place and did a little modification to help hide the repair.
It's my second kuksa and I use it at my mini bush camp in the back yard using an old coffee pot. My mini bush camp is the best I can do during the "lock down". I have a fire pit and am just waiting for the two top pieces for my stoker stove, so i can brew my coffee in my kessel. I absolutely love all of the products I have gotten from Uberleben, and will tell anyone that they should check you out first, before buying any camping/bushcraft products.
I received my Lore cup in a timely fashion, however there was a small crack (pretty sure it was a natural crack in the wood) that caused a slight leak. I reached out to Uberleben and showed them the issue, and they immediately shipped me a replacement. My new Lore is fantastic! I am enjoying it while in our ‘new normal’! I will definitely purchase from this company again!
Love this kuksa. Well made, durable, rustic and endearingly nostalgic. Lightweight and versatile, it’s the perfect weight to confidently bring along with you into the backcountry and the perfect size to sip on anything from camp soup to steaming oatmeal, and hot cocoa to cowboy coffee. It’s also super easy to clean up and take care of. Definitely recommend this.
I really enjoy the Lore Kuksa, the best part is no more burnt lips with hot beverages, but it looks and feels great in hand; my hiking buddy liked it so much I bought one as a surprise for his birthday. Despite the weight, this is a luxury item that has become a staple and must have in my hiking/backpacking gear. Thanks for a great product that meets and exceeds my expectations. Get one for yourself you'll be happy you did.
Excellent product. Great fast delivery. Will order more stuff!
What a beautiful addition to my daypack. I’ll be drinking in style now
Love tHe cup! Can’t wait to bring it camping. Good quality and great customer service!
Has me excited for new outdoor adventures involving sipping coffee at the best views WV has to offer!
Bought a few different products over time, very pleased!!! Will be buying more!
No photos yet ,But perfect for our high country use.
I love my Lore Kuksa! The 12oz size feels comfortable in my hands and not too big. This kuksa made my cup of coffee even better.
Awesome I have the smaller version too. Excellent craftsmanship... what you'd expect for Uberleben.
A great, great kuksa! The larger size is ideal for those cold Minnesota snowshoe adventures.
My husband enjoying a cup of tea at our backyard fire -25
Got a few of these for Christmas gifts. They loved them! Couldn’t be happier.
Love my new kuksa. Can’t wait to warm my hands and belly with a hot cup of coffee out in nature.
Great product. I use it camping and at home. Can't say enough about how this company is truly customer focused. Great experience!
Bought this as a gift for my brother who is into survival gear! He loved it!
Love the feel and look ! Great quality !
I don't have a photo yet - it was a gift to my son and he hasn't been out in the woods yet - had to go back to work. Trying to order more for his b-day so would like the 15% discount.
Amazing 12 oz cup! Reminds me of the kuksa my grandfather made me years ago. It's been on several winter adventure already always retaining the warmth of the hot beverage. Highly recommend.
Love it!!! Excellent quality!!
So excited to gift these cups to my Baby Yoda lovers
Very nice. Bought for gifts.
Wonderful design Kuksa. At first I was apprehensive about this design. But now I love it. The bigger size is nice too.
Got both....BOGO 1/2 off! Love waking up and drinking my coffee and eating oatmeal around last nights leftover campfire from these! Perfect for my canoe kit.
Great quality and finish!
I actually bought both kuksas because I really like the ready availability of ordering and they are such quality products. I was a personal chef for 13 years and now a coal miner for 6 by trade but when I get out of a long hard day and sit down with my family, there’s nothing like a hot glass of tea in my new kuksa. I love all of your products and am hoping to but the titanium stove next. I already have the steel and I love it for the cook outs and fires with the boys at our Boy Scout meetings. I’m patiently waiting for the kettle as well because I really want the whole matching set. Überleben is a great company and caught my attention quickly. Thank you!!!
It holds more and packs a little tighter due to the slim handle. It weighs almost nothing! I have 2 8oz kuksas (capacity). They are great!
Look forward to trying out the new one.
Bought 12oz and of course different style came out couple of days later. But I like it
If it wasn't for the new model releasing I would have given this 5 stars.
I love this cup because now I don't have to either carry my plastic cup, environmental disaster, or my burn your hands and lips metal cup. Granted each of the other cups have their pros and cons, but this cup is the best of all worlds.
No burnt hands and lips, unless you slosh or guzzle that boiling drink, and no more worrying about if, and this is a big if, I "lose" my plastic cup in the backcountry. Yes, i have had some varieties of squirrel decide they liked my cups or clothing or both more than me.
For treatment of the cup for longer storage, I use the nontoxic Howard Butcher Block oil. It has the needed oils in it, plus a beeswax and Brazilian carnauba wax. This will keep it looking new and prevent cracking. If your worried about the mineral oil and waxes, just put a little "hot" water in the cup and swirl it around and dump the liquid and wipe it out.
Now I am waiting for Christmas so I can reopen my present.
Arrived on time, as advertised.
A great Kuksa indeed. I love mine and am gonna be sipping some Christmas spirits out of it. Thanks Uberlebin! Get you one!
I love how it feels in my hands. The craftsmanship is amazing.
My wife and I travel in our Sprinter Van Rv and were looking for a natural wood cup when we camp. I had looked at Finland's birch kuksa cups but could not bring myself to paying $100 each . I found the Uberleben cups and when delivered I could not be happier with the purchase. Thanks for a fantastic product at 1/3 the cost. Ed
I did not get to try this as I gave it as a gift. The receiver stated that they loved it !
I’m very passionate about the outdoors and love good quality outdoor gear. I have several kuksa cups and bowls....they are fantastic! I take mine everywhere I go. My cups have seen many a wondrous sights in my woods and have also hand some great food and drinks. I highly recommend them. Enjoy!
Very light, comfortable in the hand and the craftsmanship is quite well done. Looking forward to the years of usage to come.
Love this cup for my bugout bag!!!
I bought four of these wooden cups, one for me and three for gifts, are not what I would consider finished out the box. The lip of the cups all needed a fine sanding as well as certain parts of the cup where the finish was less then I would expect. After a 15 to 20 minute sanding with 220 grit then 400 grit the cups looked great but not before.
The other thing I didn't like was the graphic "12" on the cup handle; I thought it was a bit silly so I sanded it off . . . but that just might be my taste for simplicity.
Other then that the wood was well selected and solid, the grain pattern was what it should be, and the shape of the cup was nice. I would recommend this product if you don't mind doing a little work on it.
Simply and nice
This is a gift for my husband. I know he will love it! The quality and workmanship is lovely!
Came promptly. Intended for Christmas gifts, so no in-use photos yet.
Haven't used it yet but immediately impressed with the sturdiness of product. Will use soon for trial before o embark on my next journey.
A very nice Cup, great material, very smooth and handy. I like it very much!
Sturdy and perfect for the tent life!
The perfect mug to serve up steaming hot mushroom chai latte!
GREAT addition to the Ueberleben collection of nature-inspired outdoor gear! A 12 oz is just the right size for a 12 oz can or bottle! Enjoy the comfort of drinking out of a wooden vessel! Skoel!
Nice cup, can't decide to keep it or give as gift.
Bought these as a gift for my husband’s bushcraft gear and he loves them! Thanks so much!
Very well made, I ordered them for xmas presents for my outdoor loving family.
Even when I am not camping or backpacking I have my 12 oz Uberleben cup with me at my desk to portion out my snack for the day!
