Makes fire easy
All of the products that I received look amazing,I look forward to using them out on the trail shortly.
I have tried many different fire starting methods. This is the easiest and most reliable I have used.
I have 3 of them and a couple of refills, They are awesome!
Awesome product, love the quality and overall performance of these items! Will definitely be a returning customer!
Catches on fire very easily
Lights every time. It has replaced my fireplace matches.
I love it, easy to use and lights quick!!!
Looking forward to going camping!
Very nice piece of gear. Very well made.
Liked it so much I bought multiple as gifts.
A must have, not only for those who do survivalism! But for every excursionist who thinks that "less is more"
Works good lights easy
I've used all sorts of fire starters, from homemade to store-bought. They all "work" until you're out at a camp site, drizzle in the air, your wood is wet, and that little tinder bundle just got blown apart by a gust of wind. Being able to use this like a match, and direct the fire exactly where it needs to ignite is awesome. Plus, the blow stick is a huge bonus! Nice design.
A must have for everyone's pack. One of the simplest to use and one of the most dependable items in your fire kit.
Great product that you can count on.
Used this item this weekend. Frayed the end and lit it. It did a nice job starting the camp fire. Burned slowly which leads to multiple uses. Overall happy with my purchase.
it is in my kit
It's a great little tool to go with my Ferro rod.
Love it. Once the end is charred it will usually light wit one strike with the Zunden.
What i like (and admire) is the alchemy between the materials, and the superb balance between ruggedness and refinement that distinguishes all of your gear from "the others".
Great looks too, that hit all the essential marks for good design (see the 10 commandments of Dieter Rams), and therefore for a very very good product.
The new kit is great. I added a ferro rod, a flint and steel kit and some char cloth. It all fits in the new container. Thanks
...So, where was the Tindar wick/bellows when I bought this camp stove over fifty years ago?
I recently purchased the Tindar Wick & Bellows and really enjoyed using it. Super simple and it work perfect. I've included a link to a short video if you'd like to see it in action. https://youtu.be/IlJOgC3iBPU
Fine easy to use bushcraft products combined with super fast shipping makes this company the first place that I "BUG OUT" to get outdoor fire-starting gear.
Excellent piece of kit ! Really helpful starting fires
I used this along with my new Ferro Rod for the first time this weekend and was so impressed I don’t plan on using matches or lighters at my hunting property anymore. Great products!
Works great in cold, wet weather...
Very good quality. They will come in handy.
Great product don't burn ur fingers
Very nicely crafted i
ten. Took me a little while to get the hang of making a spark. But here is my first flame. Yay!
Love it! Burns well even in the wind. It's always good to have another option when it comes to fire.
This works! I just order a Tindår Wick and Bellow and a Zünden Fire starter. As soon as I got them I had to try them. I prepped the end of the wick bu rubbing about an inch of it between my fingers and then I gave it a go. I had the wick burning on my second strike (the first sparks missed). This is easy to use and it be very useful. I’m planning to buy more set of fire starters and wicks to live in my different first aid kits and with my emergency supplies. I definitely recommend this product.
I had a great experience with this company.
love this item-it works great-works like a big match
Fantastic for starting fires!
I love this item. Waterproof tender/fire starter always ready. Great burn time for marginal tenders and can put out with the slide of the bellow. Great construction
Great fire starter, took a few tries to ignite the hemp wax rope, but was because it was my first time using the ferro rod and striker. I found that by using the saw in my Swiss Army knife and fraying the char cord , it made it much easier to catch the sparks and ignite. Great product.
I have zero experience as a fire starter and I was able to start one with about 5 strikes using my Uberleben striker and wick. Now that I know how to do it I will be less tentative - aiming for 1st-strike abilities! Great product. Simple and gives me confidence for my solo wilderness wanderings.
I bought the 8" ferrous rod and is the best. Even sent a sample tinder wick and had other types. Not a paid sponsor, but will say this, the best of all I owned.
Tindar wick is very easy to use. I love it. it is a perfect combination with Hexa rod for lighting a fire.
Awsome gear use it all the time!
Used the fire starter and frayed the rope and it started right up. Kind of reminds me of those candles that won’t burn out. Wick with a paraffin wax coating to keep it dry.
Works fantastic. Had to use it in a rain storm and performed just as it was designed to. Stuff it in your kit and go. Small, light, and easy to use.
This is great, catches a spark ray and has a good flame
Lit up on the first strike! Easy to use.
Wish I had discovered this Sooner
The fire wick is a great idea and helps me quickly catch a spark from my Uberleben fire rod. I fray the end and hold it with my striker as I scrape the fire rod; presto! I usually get it the first strike saving my rod and permitting me to reach the flame into a stove or tinder to easily start a fire in tight place that is difficult to direct sparks into. Only complaint is I wish the hemp wicks were about twice as long. Thanks Uberleben!
I use a little brass brush to fray the ends, lights up first time, every time!!!
Great idea! It is easy to use, convenient to carry around and lights no problem. Great company thank you for being in Idaho.
I love this this makes fire building as easy as striking a mach. Or for you young folks as easy as flicking your bic. Awsome and to your fire kit
This thing works too easy. Been trying to master real flint and steel. Still have a long way to go with it. Bought the Uberleben firesteel and tinder wick to see what all the hype was about. No effort required to get a flame. Not an EMBER, a FLAME! Going to keep my Uberleben stashed for a worst case senario. Awesome product. I highly recommend it.
Dr. George C.
Bought it for my teenage son and he thought it was super cool so that made Dad super cool.
I gave this as a gift along with the fire starter. Both were quite a hit! Perfect for my outdoor-loving cousin who prefers practical gifts. He can be difficult to buy for, but this year your items made it easy to please him. Thank you!
What a great tool for starting a fire, far superior to a match (easier to start and much easier to handle) and on a recent winter camping trip, I was attempting to start my alcohol burner stove, and thought I I will just I use a lighter, nope, wouldn’t start. Instead I used the tindar and got it to light right up!
Turned right around and bought another one. Guess that means I liked it! Showed it to my buddy and he bought one too!
Tindar wick is easy to lite. A couple scratches to the Wick with the knife. A spark from the ferro rod, and flame is made. It really is that easy to get a flame. And this is from a complete novice in this arena. I am looking forward to improving my outdoors skills. This product will a valuable tool in my outdoor adventures.
Very quick to light, very needed here in Ireland when everything is wet! Will always be with me on my camping trips :)
This is my third time ordering from Uberleben, great quality products, I’ve added them to multiple BOB bags, vehicle kits, and EDC bags. They are a vital piece of gear to survival.
I have used the tindar wick and hexa fire starter for the last month building the daily fire. A little practice makes your efficiency better, fire on the first or second strike. Replacing the fire starters in my day pack and in my sons emergency kit in an Alaskan bush plane.
My kids are bike packers. Love the fire starter.
I have my 12 year old Grandson, who is getting into camping, the stove for Christmas and it worked perfectly and we were able to start the fire after a few tries . . . we did use a little newspaper.
Perfect companion for Hexagon Fire Starter! Allows for more efficient fire starting.
This is a ideal component to include with your Bushcrafter Kit.
I really liked it used it for many months now I can't find it what a bummer maybe Santa will be good to me
Best way to use and compact. Ignites easily and burns a long time. Tube makes an excellent directed air stream. Great product!
Haven’t had a chance yet to use all of my new gear but I am very impressed with the quality of everything I’ve purchased and I think I’ve bought at least one of everything so far! Can’t wait for spring to head out camping!
Easy to carry emergency tinder when all in your world is wet.
Started with a couple sparks and burned steady
The wick works really good if you have a bag of tender, thank you
Great for my get home bag.
The Tindar wick works quite well! As a novice bushcrafter I was easily able to light the wick with my new Zunden fire starter and get a quick fire going. It stays lit long enough for me to hold the wick in my left hand as I am stacking twigs on my lit tinder. I could also cut a bit of the wick off and fluff it up to create dry tinder. I have no doubt it is going to be a great part of my fire kit.
Light with your ferro rod and use just like a match you can move wherever you need it. Plus its basically waterproof, so bring on the rain and when you're done just slide the shield to snuff it out.
You know what it looks like. But here’s a hot meal that would have been about 26.7 times harder to do with matches.
One strike with the Fatty; and a good long ‘soak’ of the kind no match can do. A small blaze at the end of the wick that the bellow extinguished with aplomb. Then...That bellow puts the best air-for-size ratio on the firebox of any I have used.
Get this if you cook with wood. Period.
Haven't used the items yet, but plan to in near future.
It work great
Incredible piece of equipment!!! Used on a daily basis and has become a standard for home and mountain. Great teacher for beginners using a ferro rod and trusted item for those experienced. Would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Tindar Wick Rocks!!!
Made a gift of the Hexa rod, wicks, and bellow. Very nice set of products. Everything works and appears to be of the highest quality. Liked the idea, liked the profile of the company, happy with the shipping and more than satisfied with these products as a nice, unconventional gift. Definitely recommend.
This tinder is very well made & takes a spark very easy. I just bought a three pack replacement because I love it so good. Thanks for making a great product.
Prepare your tinder, fray the cord end and strike the rod. Carefully directing the sparks onto the fray will result in a quick fire. Now move that flame to your tinder. It's that easy. Every camper and hiker needs to carry this just in case or to make fire starting a whole lot easier.
took a lot of sparks to get it going.
Great for tinder lighting.
I use the wick and sparker to start fires in my woodstove. It's not quite as easy as it looks, but I'm getting it! I love that I don't have to buy matches or anything with plastic to make fire!
Quick to catch a spark
Awesome! As good if not better than I expected. I still need to field test it but, so far I'm completely satisfied
Tindar wick & bellow is a nice to have item in my fire kit. Works great in combination with Zunden fire starter rod.
If you feather the end, it lites quite easily.
I love it, waterproof, very convenient & looks cool!
I’m sharing my experience because you stupid review code won’t let me out of my screen without resetting my phone. So screw you!
Love this thing, better than a match/lighter.
I’m waiting for a 1”Ferro Rod! Other companies are doing it, I know because I have bought them already. I like what your company offers but you need to expand! I’ve talked to family and friends and they’re also ready to buy a 1” ferro rod, that’s good quality and well packaged with a high quality striker. Make it happen!!! We don’t know how long COVID-19 is going to last!!! We need fire if we need to go homestead!!!!!!!!
Fluffed up the bitter end and it caught a spark right away. A welcome addition to a daypack or BOB.
